Growing Conditions
Blue Oil Ferns are relatively simple to grow as long as it receives constant moisture. Simple aroid mix provides enough oxygen to the roots while still holding moisture. Oil ferns grow well in brighter light but will become more iridescent and blue in lower light conditions. The soils in which they naturally grow are said to be limestone rich so we put a pinch of oyster shells or Calcium Carbonate in the soil as well. The fern can be a slow-medium grower and does not require much fertilizer.
